So- on Tuesday, I packed my camera, with brand new batteries, in my purse. I took it out to my parents’ place, completely intent on taking at least one picture that summed up the day. I removed the camera from my purse, turned it on, and got the ‘no memory stick’ error.
Shit.
My camera won’t work without that memory stick. It just won’t. I drove home, hoping to find it hanging out on Mike’s desk, only… it wasn’t there. It wasn’t anywhere. So there I am, without a camera. I looked all day Wednesday, all day Thursday (my house hasn’t been this clean in weeks), and had a headache on Friday, so- no looking. I woke up this morning, went to get the clothes out of the dryer, looked down and found it. My memory stick! Yay!
Of course, Mike ordered a new camera yesterday (another Sony, but one that has an internal memory as well as memory stick capabilities), and we should have it some time in the next week or so. I was able to get some pictures today, and will take more tomorrow and the next day and so on.
Today’s picture is of a lily in my backyard. These things are everywhere around town, and I love them. So pretty! Unfortunately, this is one that my dog managed to pull down on her daily forage into the weeds and plants alongside the garage. *Sigh*

A couple weeks ago, I had this neat little idea. While reading one of my favorite blogs, I noticed the pictures that the author would share. They are like little snapshots into her world, and I realized that I would like to do something like that.
So- my goal is to create a photo blog of the world around me. I hope to accomplish two things- get myself into the habit of carrying my camera everywhere I go (yeah, I know, bad scrapbooker, bad), and to see how I like WordPress (consider this a test drive). If I like WordPress enough, I’ll move my regular blog here, and discontinue using Blogger.
So- today, I am headed to my parents’ place for the Fourth, and I’ll upload my pictures tomorrow.
Edited to add: Just added brand spanking new batteries to my camera, the camera is in my purse and ready to go. Once the dryer is done and the boys are dressed, I’m out of here for the day. Yay!
